Panama and Costa Rica go head to head in health investment

Panama is aiming to have the most advanced hospitals in Central America by 2014, robbing Costa Rica of its crown.

Panama’s Social Security is investing $587 million in Ciudad Hospitalaria (Hospital City). With it, Panama aims to be Latin America’s leader in public health.

Meanwhile in Costa Rica, the Social Security department is investing $400 million in buildings and equipment between next year and 2016.
