Panama and Costa Rica to mount joint customs post

Thursday, September 6, 2012

Panama and Costa Rica will have two buildings which will serve as joint customs offices in Paso Canoas, on the southern border of Costa Rica.

The system is called Integrated Control Center, and the two buildings will be placed so that they occupy land on each country's territory, the vice-minister of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica, Fernando Ocampo explained.

Ocampo considers this new system will help smooth service and control, as there will be specialized staff from each country working in the new offices.
