Panama approves $2.3 billion budget for Canal

The government of Panama approved next year's budget for the Canal, which is now $2.3 billion.

The budget does not include the increase in the Canal fees, which will become effective in October.

The expansion of the Canal, which is expected to be complete by 2014 will double the Canal's capacity.
