Panama Canal expansion is 80 percent complete

The Panama Canal expansion project was 80 percent complete up to September, the waterway's administrator Jorge Quijano said.

He added that the works on the canal's locks are 77 percent complete.

The last set of gates for the project are expected to arrive in November this year,Quijano said.
