Panama Canal faces $5.7 billion bill in ‘extras’ for expansion

The consortium that built the expanded Panama Canal is asking for $5.7 billion in delays and overruns, so doubling the original cost of the contract.

Spanish company Sacyr leads the consortim, which also includes Impregilo of Italy and Belgium’s Jan de Nul.
