Panama goes to court over hydroelectric project

The governments of Panama and the United States have agreed to solve a legal dispute through the World Bank.

The problem concerns the concession of the Bajo de Mina hydroelectric project, and could cost Panama some $2.5 billion.

The project was first given to Transglobal Energy, but in 2007 the Panamanian government removed it from Transglobal and gave it to Grupo Ideal Panamá.
