Panama has $200 billion in mineral reserves

Panama's mining sector grew 25 percent last year.

The country is estimated to have mineral reserves worth some $200 billion, in minerals such as gold, silver, copper and molybdenum.

However, the sector needs more development, as there is only one gold mine in operation.
