Panama is facing a tourism crisis

 

Tourism is facing a crisis in Panama. Hotels say there could be mass lay-offs of staff, closures and embargoes.

Tourism arrivals are growing by 4.5% a year, but it needs to increase by 12% if the excess of hotel rooms is to be filled.
