Panama job market down 14 percent in January

Labor contracts registered with Panama’s Ministry of Labor fell sharply in January down 14 percent in compared to the same month last year.
If the trend continues 2017 could become the fifth consecutive year in which the unemployment rate increases in the country.
In January, 20,236 employment contracts were registered, down from 23,475 in the same month of last year, a decrease of 3,239.
