Panama joins Central American trade complaints over Dominican Republic

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Panama announced it has joined several Central American countries in complaining to the World Trade Organization about the Dominican Republic’s restrictions on textile imports.

Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador have already launched consultations with the organization.

The Panamanian authorities claim that the volume of Panama’s textile exports does not at all justify the Dominican Republic’s measures.
