Panama leads foreign investment in region
Panama is the number one country in Latin America in receiving foreign direct investment, according to the most recent ranking by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, ECLAC.
Panama received $2.5 billion in foreign investment in the first half of the year, 26 percent more than the same period in 2013.
Guatemala was the only other Central American nation to register growth in foreign investment, with $713 million, 3 percent more than the same period last year.
