Panama leads wage growth

With an average annual increase of 5 percent between 2008 and 2017, Panama had Central America’s highest rate of growth in employee compensation in Latin American and the Caribbean, according to the most recent Global Wage Report.
Average monthly remuneration in Panama is $1.238.
In the same period, Costa Rican salaries grew by an average of 3 percent.
Jamaica, with a 4 percent contraction for the period, is last in the ranking, which uses figures from regional banks and national data (numbers in brackets indicate average annual real wage growth or decrease in percentages).
