Panama lures investors for billions in public works

Having visited Sao Paulo, London and New York, the Panama Invest forum is hitting Madrid, with one single point on the agenda: contracts linked to the Panama Canal revamp.

Roberto Henríquez, the Trade secretary, will have talks with Spanish investors to promote investment in projects related to the Canal.

Opportunities abound, says Henríquez. Some $4 billion in contracts is related to the extension of the Canal, including hotels, airports and free zones.
