Panama needs better fiscal system, World Bank says

Tuesday, December 4, 2012

Although Panama improved its tax system last year, it should keep working to improve and simplify it even further, according to a study by Pricewaterhouse Coopers and the World Bank.

The study, carried out across 172 countries, takes into account factors such as the time it takes for a small to medium-sized company to pay its taxes.

Panama, at number 72, made significant improvements compared to last year's study, as the country brought down the number of tax on rental payments for companies from 60 to 48.
