Panama no longer needs aid from US, Obama rules

The president of the United States, Barack Obama, has acknowledged thelp from the United States Agency for International Development, USAID, is no longer necessary for Panama.
USAID is leaving Panama after 50 years of financial cooperation, during which it helped with about $1.2 billion.
Most of the money was used to develop sustainable tourism, agriculture, and for the construction and renovation of public institutions. USAID will now move to El Salvador, to continue working in Central America.
