Panama opens global bridge for its agro exports
Wednesday, August 1, 2018
Panama aims to create a global bridge for its agricultural exports that would span both Europe and Asia. On the one hand, it aims to open an office in Rotterdam, which offers a gateway for trade with Europe: on the other, it will open another in Shanghai, the main hub for trade in Asia.
Augusto Arosemena, the Trade minister, said the office in Rotterdam will be opened by the end of this month. The one in Shanghai it to open early next year.
But the trade offensive will also have a US element, Arosemena added. "There could well be yet another trade office to come in the United States," he said.
