Panama ports see increase in container traffic

Between January and October, the Panamanian port system mobilized 5.8 million containers, a growth of 3.4 percent compared with the same period the previous year.

The port system is composed of four terminals on the Atlantic side and two on the Pacific side.

These numbers include both local containers (imports and exports) as well as transshipments, which account for 90 percent of the traffic.
