Panama's $1.45 billion Metro ready to roll in 2014

Friday, May 18, 2012

The construction of Panama's Metro system, President Ricardo Martinelli's flagship project and the first of its kind in Central America, is continuing despite citizens' annoyance with traffic disturbances caused by the works.

The executive director of the project, Roberto Roy, said that work on the project has advanced by 30 percent.

The Metro should be operational by February 2014. Construction began last year with a $1.45 billion investment.
