Panama's $6.4 billion copper giant to export by 2017

 

The Cobre Panamá mine will begin to export copper to the United States, India, Brazil and China by late 2017, Efe told mine manager Todd Clewett, of Canada’s First Quantum Minerals.

Clewett said the company will be hiring a workforce of 2,500, “most of them Panamanians”. Investment in the mine is estimated at $6.4 billion.
