Panama's economy is growing faster than China's

Panama's economy is growing at a faster rate than China, according to the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, known as ECLAC.

This year, the economy of Panama is expected to grow 10.5 percent, compared to the Central American average of 3 percent.

Continuity in politics, as well as a long-term vision in projects such as the Canal expansion, have helped Panama become achieve this level of growth, says Juan Alberto Fuentes, Economic Development director for ECLAC.
