Panama's economy shows signs of slowing down

Panama's economy is growing at a slower pace, and registered a 5 percent drop in the last two years, according to official data.

In January 2012, the country's economy grew 9.8 percent, while in the same month this year it grew 4.4 percent.

Among the best performing sectors were transport, storage, communications and manufacturing.
