Panama's economy surges into double-digit growth

Panama's economy could grow more than 10 percent this year, compared to 2011, the Ministry of Economy and Finance said.

The ministry had originally predicted 7 percent growth, however, based on the current performance of different sectors of the economy, the Ministry has raised the prediction.

The sectors that have contributed to helping Panama's economy grow are transport, construction, communications, tourism and trade.
