Panama's port cargo movement drops 4.7 percent

Cargo movement in Panamanian ports dropped 4.7 percent between January and October 2013, compared with the same period a year before.

The port of Cristóbal saw the biggest drop, with 16.5 percent in the period, followed by Balboa, with a 5.2 percent drop.

Despite the results, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean said Panama was the top Latin America country in terms of port movement, followed by Brazil.
