Panama's telecoms generates $964 million

The telecommunications sector in Panama generated $964 million last year, the country's public services authority, ASEP, said.

The sector was boosted by cellphones, which generated $597 million, or 62 percent of the total.

Currently in Panama there are 6.2 million active cellphone lines.
