Panama seeks to become reinsurance hub

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Panama is seeking to become a reinsurance hub in the region through a modification of its 1996 Law 36.

The government is already working on the first draft of the changes, said Luis Della Togna, Panama's superintendent of insurance.

The aim is for Panama to take full advantage of its competitive advantages over other countries in the region, while guaranteeing strong regulations and supervision of reinsurance services.
