Panama slashes public-sector deficit

 

Panama’s public-sector deficit in the first six months of the year amounted to a mere $129 million, some $519 million less than in the same period of last year.

Meanwhile, the fiscal deficit fell to 0.2 percent of GDP compared with 1.2 percent over the same timespan, said Finance minister Dulcidio De La Guardia.
