Panama suffers four-hour power blackout
Panama suffered a blackout yesterday afternoon for almost four hours due to damages to a transmission line.
The electricity company ENSA reported an explosion in its voltmeters which damaged the country's principal transmission line.
The blackout damaged the Chilibre water processing plant, affecting the water supply of more than 1 million people. Mobile communications were partially affected, and the capital was hit by traffic chaos because of the lack of stop lights.
