Panama to lead economic growth in Latin America

Panama will lead economic growth in Latin America next year, according to the UN's Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, ECLAC.

The Central American country is expected to grow 7 percent next year, ahead of Peru and Bolivia, both seen growing 5.5 percent, and Nicaragua, expected to grow 5 percent.

This year, mining and construction were the strongest sectors in Panama, with a 27 and 26 percent growth respectively, compared to 2012.
