Panama to negotiate Venezuela debt

Panama is set to negotiate the payment of a multi-million dollar debt Venezuela owes Panamanian companies.

The Central American country's Trade Minister, Melitón Arrocha, will travel to Caracas to meet Venezuelan Finance Minister Rodolfo Marco Torres in order to find a solution to the debt.

Venezuela owes Panamanian businesses, mainly from the Colón Free Trade Zone, some $1 billion due to the South American country's currency controls.
