Thursday, May 12, 2011

Peru's free trade agreements with Panama and Costa Rica are expected to come into force in January 2012. Peru has recently inked agreements with both nations as part of free trade negotiations with a group of five Central American countries, which also include Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

Talks with Guatemala are expected to conclude at next week's bilateral meeting, while there are still outstanding issues in the negotiations with El Salvador and Honduras.
