Prices surge at Guatemala Coffee Cup of Excellence

Less than two weeks after the Nicaragua Cup of Excellence competition auction fetched for farmers a in-country record average high price, the 2017 Guatemala CoE auction has also resulted in a record average high.

At the June 14 Guatemala auction, the 28 winning lots received an average high price of $16.08 per pound, with no lots selling for less than $8.90 per pound, and a coffee from the El Paraxaj family farm run by Ana Lucia Meneses fetching $58.00 per pound from the Korean coffee chain Angel-in-us Coffee.
