Private firms in Costa Rica warn over energy cost

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Private companies in Costa Rica complained about the country's high electricity costs, and told the government that if the situation remains the same they will be forced to close and cut jobs.

The Costa Rican private sector union of chambers and associations said that electricity costs in 2014 went up by 12 percent.

The union added that companies are concerned as it elevates their production costs.
