Production chains boost firms in Costa Rica

Some 514 small companies in Costa Rica have benefitted through production chains, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

Those companies have teamed up with 301 exporters, which helped generate exports worth $10 million last year.

For presidential candidate Luis Guillermo Solís, production chains are vital for the success of free trade zones on the country's coastal regions, where unemployment and poverty have risen in past years.
