Protests could spread like wildfire in Costa Rica

An agenda of pending issues that have been set to one side so far, appear sure to emerge as social conflicts in the Costa Rican administration of president Carlos Alvarado.

A new law covering jobs in the state sector and the legality or otherwise as applications such as Uber are only two examples.

A new tax package could soon swell the ranks of the street protests because the current one is not enough to offset the weight of the deficit.
