Quantum-GSU to build $1-billion plant in El Salvador

El Salvador is set to become the first Central American country with a natural gas plant.

Permission is still pending from the country's authorities for a $1 billion natural gas plant planned for Acajutla, near La Unión port.

The bidding process for the project was won by a joint venture between El Salvador's Quantum and Generadora La Unión, Salvadoran subsidiary of Finland's Wartsila.
