Region's coffee sector needs two years to recover

Central America's coffee sector will need at least two years to recover from the coffee rust plague, according to experts.

The plague has affected half the plantations in the area, cost 500,000 jobs and caused losses of up to $681 million throughout the region.

Extreme weather conditions and low international prices have also hit the region's coffee sector.
