Region sets target of 80 percent electricity coverage

Energy directors of Central America set a target of providing electricity for 90 percent of the region's population.

The target was set at a regional meeting in Managua, Nicaragua.

Costa Rica currently has 98.6 percent coverage of electricity for its population, but the other countries fall short of 90 percent.
