Region to receive $2 billion from Inter-American Bank

Central America and the Dominican Republic is expected to obtain financing for $2 billion in 2011 from the Inter-American Development Bank.

The loans will be used for priority areas such as citizen security, infrastructure, social protection networks, natural disasters and climate change, and public finances, the bank president, Luis Alberto Moreno announced.

Moreno was speaking at the opening of a meeting of regional central bank and finance ministers.
