Regional exports drop 5 percent in first half

Central American exports dropped 5.5 percent in the first half of the year, compared to the same period last year, according to a report by the Central American Economic Integration System.
The report attributes the drop to the economic slowdown in Europe and a slow recovery in the United States.
However, it also highlights regional problems such as excessive debt and irregular reports of spending by governments.
