Remittances from Spain to Nicaragua drop 15 percent

Remittances from Spain to Nicaragua dropped 15 percent in the second quarter of the year, according to the Nicaraguan central bank.

In the period, Nicaragua received $13.6 million in remittances, from Spain, while in the same period last year the figure was $16 million.

Spain is Nicaragua's third largest remittance provider, however, the European country's unemployment rate is currently 26 percent.
