Remittances may cushion blow for Nicaragua's economy

Nicaragua received $353 million of remittances in the first quarter, a 9.3 percent year-on-year increase.

Economic experts say that the political problems currently faced by the nation will make little impact on the current level of remittances but emigration is likely to surge.
