Remittances to Nicaragua grow 7 percent

Remittances to Nicaragua have grown 7 percent this year, and are expected to maintain that rate until year end, said Ovidio Reyes, president of the country's central bank.

That rate is higher than the 6.3 percent registered last year.

In 2013, Nicaragua received $1.07 billion in remittances, a figure that represents 9.6 percent of the country's gross domestic product.
