Rural companies in Costa Rica increase services for Internet, television and telephony

Companies in the Costa Rican countryside that used only to distribute water and electricity in the villages have moved steadily into telecommunications.

 

The new potential is being explored by rural cooperatives as well as small cable television operators.

 

Of the 16 authorized cable operators, 10 now offer Internet services.
