Sacyr seeks $5 billion for Panama locks

Spanish construction company Sacyr, leader of the consortium that is widening the Panama Canal, expects to receive “a bit more than $5 billion” for design and construction of the third set of locks.

The project is to be inaugurated on June 26. The original contract was for $3.118 billion.
