Salvadoran free-zone textile industry calls for more government support in coming years, says business leader

The textile industry in El Salvador has called for more support from the Government.

One of the main challenge being faced by the country’s textile sector is to achieve a greater commitment from the government in the coming years, Patricia Figueroa, leader of Camtex, the chamber of free-zone companies.

The textile sector accounts for about 45 percent of total exports of El Salvador, and contributes 4.1 percent to its gross domestic product.
