Scientists recognize Dole's water conservation at Costa Rican banana plant

A Dole Food packing plant in Costa Rica earned praise during World Water Week in Stockholm.

A panel of water scientists gave the New Millennium packing system, which US-based Dole installed at the plant earlier this year, an honorable mention.

The facility reduces water use and cuts energy use by 50 percent.
