Scotiabank aims to open representative office soon in Guatemala

Canada-based Scotiabank aims to open a representative office in Guatemalan with the aim of providing corporate lending.

Luis Velásquez, the Guatemalan finance minister, said that the bank’s vice-president for Latin America, visited Guatemala.

José Antonio Iturriaga, senior executive of Scotiabank unit Banco de Antigua, said that the aim of the new office is to prokvide loans of a minimum of $10 million for the 200 largest companies in Guatemala.
