Sherwin-Williams is denied Comex takeover
Friday, July 19, 2013
Sherwin-Williams's bid to acquire Mexican paint maker Comex was rejected by Mexico’s antitrust regulator.
The transaction, valued at $2.4 billion, would have given the combined company the ability to set artificially high prices, the Federal Competition Commission said.
It added the company would have a market share of up to 58 percent.
