Shipping giants optimistic about Panama Canal

Large shipping firms such as Maersk, Mediterranean Shipping Company and Hyundai have already scheduled Neopanamax ships to use the recently expanded Panama Canal, said Rommel Troetsch, president of the Panamanian Maritime Chamber.

For next year’s high season, Troetsch expects a higher use of the Canal, particularly in routes between Asia and the U.S. East Coast.
