Sinohydro and Eletrobras eye $1 billion in Costa Rica

Technicians from Sinohydro of China and Eletrobras of Brazil, two leaders in hydroelectricity, are visiting Costa Rica with the aim of developing the Reventazon project.

Both are state-ownbed companies and they aim to provide Costa Rica’s state-owned utility ICE with finance and know-how for Reventazon.

Reventazon, which is scheduled to have a 300-megawatt capacity, is expected to cost $1 billion.
